This album is something of a follow-up to CARILLON AT CHRISTMAS TIME. Like the former album, it consists of traditional musi Christmas music arranged for and performed on a vintage carillon. THE COLORS OF CHRISTMAS takes the concept a step further with more ambitious arrangements, an enhanced use of stereo, and the addition of a few secular selections as well. A vintage "vibe" still permeates, from the sound of the instrument to the choice of selections and even the album graphics. I hope you will enjoy listening to this album as much as I have enjoyed creating it!

I first heard the electro-acoustic carillon in childhood through the recordings of John Klein. His masterful use of bell timbres sparked in me a keen interest - one that led to a 30-year career as a music teacher.

I have spent years reconstructing and restoring the carillon in my private studio. Amazingly, its console is the very one used by Mr. Klein in making those recordings. Full circle… ... more
